f5 depth

i haven't really done a lot of experiments with my f5. so i ask what kind of difference is there in depth from all metal mode and disc mode? i have not really had a chance to test this thanks to the "great" weather as of late.

ok after reading some of mike's post i think i'm going to try using fewer tones as i normally use the 4 tone setting. i will also try opening the machine up a little since i usually only use about 60 gain. hopefully i will find silver a little deeper and more of it. i will have to experiment once it stops raining so much.

Conditions permitting, running the F5 hot is important to getting the best depth.

One important thing is to gauge the detector's stability when the coil is swinging over the ground. The F5 will run stable at much higher settings when the coil is actually sweeping over the ground then when the coil is not moving.
