F70 delta pitch

Hey you F70 swingers...once you get comfortable running 3H...you really gotta try that Delta pitch...I hit a soccer field today that I've hit at least 20 times in the past. Came outta there with 27 dimes and a bunch of stuff I missed before..it seems to really help identify things under ground really well, really separates those coin spills too...seems to help pinpoint, to where a guy takes a stab or two with the probe dead on....one thing, keep your SENS low enough so it doesn't chirp so much...
disc, 15, DE mode, thresh -3 ...the disc at 15 takes out iron, but leaves in foil.. this F70 seems to be able to set up for a lot of situations, tight to bleachers, lotsa trash, or wide open if the situation dictates..just takes lotsa practice and commitment to learning its language and capabilities....I'm hoping Delta pitch will help me find some gold in the pulltab/nickle range with a subtle difference in sound. Oh, today is my first anniversary to this addiction... well, here comes the weekend, get up at 0 dark thirty and hit some spots!

Well, I hit a football field and track that I've hit 20 times before to try out some of the F70 functions..I've found a silver ring, silver mens bracelet, rosie, earring, and two buff nicks at this site, last year, but it has lotsa trash too...Today, in 5 hrs. I pulled 127 coins, 63 or them pennies, 39 of them dimes, another ring (junk) and a really nice womens 925 silver bracelet....after a slow start, I cranked the discrim up to 55 so all I could hear was pennies, dimes, and Quarters...really swept it down good this time I think..funny how I missed all that stuff before...learning curve I guess. So I got $10.43, and that bracelet...

Very interesting what you write. I'm wondering it will work at medieval field.I've hit many times before , very carefully. There aren't foil, pultabs etc.. just lot of iron.
I find many hammered small silver coins, ID 22-40 , small copper pieces, rings, buckles an dother artefacts.
I usualy use these settings: Disc 0, SL, sens 70+, Tresh 4+, Or Disc 0 , De, Sens 80+, Tresh 4+. Nothing EMI there deep forest.

Yeah, you gotta keep that small foil in where your hunting for sure...I'm starting to learn a few different programs and tailor the settings to the situation. What tones do you like now? I havn't tried SL mode yet, i'm in DE all the time..We are still hunting some melting snow banks up here, theres plenty of open ground now too. Well, its getting late, suns coming up, gotta go swing!

Those are really cool finds obolus.mudpuppy, good to hear your finally coming down off those snow banks!!!!. I used to wright down every setting I used, and now am starting to find the settings that work in most situations.I think your on to something, cause I found that the lower my sens. and the higher my disc.is killer on clad, but when I am in an area free of emi,and not alot of trash,I really like to run as hot as I can.Ofcourse thats with the f75,wich is pretty close to your f70 I believe?....hh rick in mi.

Got a 63 rosie! and a 44d wheat...just one year and one S from the big money! Also found a Lincoln dollar coin, $5.63 in clad, 16 dimes, 12 Qs and the rest pennies...gonna wrap up the F70 and go back out, this time I'll try to "notch" nickles back in, and leave iron, foil, grommets, pulltabs out...you are right about a deadly clad grabber, especially hot on dimes, and the delta pitch is nice for identifying dime from penny. I knew that was a silver dime, or a silver ring, they both read 81 on the TID..I've only found 6 of those dimes, one a 1910 barber, and a 27 merc, the rest late model rosies...no silver q's yet..that bracelet from yesterday has marcasites? The wife said it was a 100 dollar bracelet at one time, but got mashed up pretty good by the plow. Still, its heavy enough to have some melt value, I gotta get a scale and a test kit soon, along with a clad tumbler.
It started raining and snowing and my hands froze up, but I like this weather for hunting, as nobody else is out..

Rain, Hail, Thunder, and Lightening...lots of each caught up with me to try this out on that soccer field I hit this winter through 6" of snow...I got 15 bucks outta there then, plus a nice silver ring, and again, thought I had it swept clean, but NO!. got another 3.40 in @ an hour, the lightening made it hard to pinpoint, the hail made it hard to see, the rain made it hard to smoke, so I said "the hell with it" and scampered off...the wife is getting a little worried, but Hey, I used to fish in this kind of weather, and I told her the metal detector is a natural lightening deterrent..dont think she believes me!

Hows that Delta Pitch relate to the F75?

Shooter,I havnt used the delta pitch on my f75 yet.I was off topic trying to relate to his different sens. and disc. settings for quick clad shooting.Plan on giving it a shot next time out,any thoughts??.....hh rick in mi.

Tried Delta pitch but in trashy areas it's a no-go. In clean areas, it's a no brainer, delta pitch won't do much for you that the individual tone settings can't do better.

The F70 does not have audio capabilities that other tone-sensitive machines have. I've found DP is not consistent across identical targets. If it had a characteristic tweet for silver like an ETrac for instance it'd be in like Flynt. As is, an old pop can or the rusted remains of a steel beer can or a silver quarter can sound identical to one another as the coil passes the return signal back up the cable dependent on swing orientation. Meanwhile, two silver dimes may give off entirely different tone sequences again depending on swing orientation, depth and horizontal placement of the target(s).

That's not to say you won't find them, but the individual settings work every bit as well and better in tight and trashy target areas where high bounces are common. No idea on how the F75 works in regards to Delta Pitch.

I agree, Delta is too busy for trashy areas. I like 3 tone for super trashy areas if all I want is clad & silver. 4 tone if ya are willing to endure more a more busy audio response but want to get indian heads and certain gold/older coins.
