F75 / F70 5x10 elliptical DD coil

I have one of the these 5x10 elliptical DD coils for my F75, but I got it in a trade used. This coils has been out for a while and I am wondering why they are a little hard to find, even at some of the bigger dealers.

Is there some kind of a problem with coil?

I would think most Fisher dealers would at least list, even if it is out of stock.

Wondering,

I think one reason may be the cost vs the cost & competition of the NEL SS (CORS) and the Detech coils of similar size. Fisher is late to their own game and I don't see the solid coil being that universally accepted as an advantage.

I think it is a pretty good coli and use it quite a bit on spots with pretty heavy trash, but need a little more depth then the 5" will give me. It does see fewer targets then the 11" and near equal to it in depth. Great for winter woods hunting for getting into, around and under brush. For me, it actually sees more use then the 11." I like the 5x10DD as well, and I hadn't really thought about the other brand coils having any effect on how popular any one Fisher coil would be. I have a NEL sharpshooter and it is so close to the 5x10 that most of the time I just opt for the 5x10 which is a little slimmer coil, so in my mind I think it does better in the trash.

The 11" is my least used for the same reason, the trash.

The Sharpshooter isn't a bad compromise between the 5" and 5x10, but geez, how many coils does a guy need and probably just splitting hairs, anyway. HH jim tn

Boy Jim you hit the nail on the head with that one.

11" DD use it or not it is a stock coil for the F75 so it is a keeper
10" concentric just got this one so I can't say if it is a needed keeper or not
5x10 DD I would say this coil is a keeper because I use it a lot
NEL sharpshooter, is close enough to the 5x10 that I would say it is not needed

Little coils:
5"DD coil I would say it is a keeper
6.5" concentric I use the heck out of this coil so it is a keeper for sure
NEL snake coil, so close to the 5" I would say not needed.

My 2 centavos,

For working around sticks & brush, and "big sweeping" turf areas, the 5x10 skates through with very little hang ups.
I was considering the NEL sharpshooter or hunter, but the open design of those are similar to the stock 10". Which was difficult to swing in the sticks.

I had read the general performance of the 5x10 and sharpshooter were similar, so the physical design is what drove my decision.

I started using the 5 x10 more last fall. Suddenly I was finding more silver. Probabaly because better depth than the 5" Round. So that is my standard coil right now unless I hit real trashy areas. Then I get too many false 90 plus signals. Like I found hundreds of 50 cent and dollar coins using 3H tones.
