Fair grounds and old park

Fair grounds last week gave up another Merc.1935...same old junk not in photo...and met Charles(upstate)Sat. morning there but they were having a function and they asked us not to detect until its over (Monday). So we headed south to old park and was looking forward to spending sometime with Charles and maybe learn something new from his knowledge....but his detecter stock coil was not working so he hit the road...I am sure he was tired from early morning hunt at beach....he showed me the gold bracelet he found....Nice find Charles!!
So I worked hard for the only coin I dug and it was another(3rd found in park) Seated Liberty Dime "1888" they are still there but the park doesn't give them up easily it makes you work hard for them...one minute after I found the dime, battery died, so guess it was my lucky day after all.

Wish I was there to see you dig that one! I did some research on that site this morning, very interesting history.

Oh by the way I ran across an article that noted a test this month resulted in a very high e-coli bacteria count so be careful of the water.

I got my detector working again, as I thought the coil was toast. I ran the Sunray 12 inch at the shore this morning, the coil worked flawlessly so I have my new beach coil!

I may head over to that site this afternoon, the weather is too nice not to get out there. I gota round up some bug spray though, I still got a welt on my head from that blood sucking bug that got me yesterday at the fairgrounds!

I gotta hit the beach tomorrow..GF has to work and I am jones-en for some gold rings and things!! My SS scoop falls over everytime I walk past it...its trying to tell me she wants to go for a walk and do some digging...York Me. of course... call me sometime this week...I get home by 4-5pm depending where I am working...and what time I start...

At least from my end of detecting...I found a broach and a screw cap that was screaming silver coin..a unshot 22 plus spent ones...I got desparate and decided to start digging all but iron and it was hard to find any signals like that...this place is a love and hate relationship...

This is what our club collects them for........

Or send them to me and We will take care of the rest

Finding those Seated Coins are a lot of fun even if you only find 1 of them after hours of searching. The Fairgrounds should keep yeilding some nice Silver and such. Good Luck and HH at your sites.

Anything you see you like? Good Luck and HH. :detecting:

just go outside and look around. Plenty of people walking around! Sorry! I just had to do that.:punch: I have a ton of Walking Liberty Halves though and there is just not enough room on my scanner to place them all. The Walker is one of the Nicest Designed Coins I think and I just love finding them. They are becoming tough to find these days so I will take as many as I can before someone else beats me to them. Good Luck and HH.:detecting:
