This afternoon, we went downtown Montreal to re-visit the botanical garden. Of couse we only looked in the greenhouses. The botanical garden is a whole day trip in itself in summer time, but for now i only needed a little warm weather. I could also visit the Biodome, but it's school break right now and there are tons of visitors.

It's butterfly time in the green houses. Tons of them flying around freely. Here are a few pics taken this afternoon. I took so many, it was hard to choose. Pics that size doesn't do them justice but... here they are anyway.

Look at this one, you could almost beleve i'm getting out of the house in Santa Fe... if you overlook the wintercoats !

Here is the desert area... if you can exclude the zillion of tourist... you really feel like you are there :)

Of course, there are plants and flower everywhere... here are two of those :

You can see a lot of bonzai trees. The most impressive can be seen in summer in the japaneese pavillion. Some are hundred years old. Here are two younger ones (30-50 years old):

And here is a small part of the tons of pics i took of the butterflies :

After a while, it was time to drive back home. Once we got out, we were reminded that we're not about to see grees leafs before a big two or 3 months ! Recognise the building in the back ?

I like all of your pics except for the last one, Martin. My wife and I may be headed to Montreal within the month for a funeral and that cold white stuff gave me the shivers just looking at it.

Cheers,
