Hello All,
Had time to hit a couple of places today. Starting before sun up I hit the park where they hosted a local festival this weekend. Found $9.70 in clad plus one single dollar bill. (26 quarters, 30 dimes, 1 nickel, 19 pennies) Three other MD's showed up by the time I left. Most of the low hanging fruit had been picked by then. Found one large man's silver ring and one sterling heart pendant.
With about an hour to kill later, I went to a house where I have found about 8 silvers. Today did not disappoint, first signal was deep and about 31 to 32 at about 8 inches. Pulled out what I would later discover was my oldest coin to date. A 1891 IH.(my second) Also came across 2 Buffs and 1 War Nickel with 4 wheats to top it all off. One Buff was with the War Nickel so the signals were a little skewed. 24ish. 4-5 inches. The other Buff was a 14-15.
What a day!!!
Thanks for looking,
Bunker

Thanks Prep, Cold is not something we worry too much about down here in St. Pete. We get to MD all year round!!

Bunky- What better way to start off the work week then with a great hunt! Looks like those coins will show some good detail after getting a much needed bath. What mode(s) were you searching in ? Hey,love the low hanging fruit analogy, too.

Hey kschae4, Thanks, it is a good start. Haven't been able to hunt too much till last fri. Did find 2 silver rosies, one in this same yard. This hunt makes 9 silver out of this yard. This is the yard that I found the Dragon Club items out of a couple of months ago. I hit it hard that month. 8 hours one day and still I am finding more stuff. Just goes to show that you can't find it all. (but I am going to try!!!)
I was in All Metal, sens. man. at about 18. Still no headset if I can get away with it. I did try C&J mode for a bit, but I felt I might miss a tone when it discriminates out. This yard is not too trashy so it was easy to run in All Metal.
I did soak the IH in olive oil last night and the back is actually visible now. The front got a little better as well. Can't read the LIBERTY on the head band though.
Good luck this week,
Bunker

Thanks, started criss-crossing yesterday. Seems to have worked!
Your next for a IH!

Bunker

Bunky - I'd like to save the karma for a rainy day..I did recover my second IH -first with the Safari -an 1881 this past May, but as remains evident, I still post mediocre pics at best since the photo parameters are more restrictive on this forum.

Bunker,

Congratulations on the personal best ! It is a great feeling.

Wishing you more of the same . . . .

Rich

Hey kschae4, that is a nice IH. A lot more detail then mine!! Go get'em this weekend. I will be in Daytona Beach area for my daughter's Model United Nations conference. Hope to hit it there a little while they are busy during the day.

Utah Rich, Thanks for the nice words. Looking forward to many first and personal best in the near future. When your are a newbie...they come a little easier!
HH yourself and post some finds soon.

Bunker

Thanks Biofilmz, hope to see some of your finds here in the near future. Don't forget to add the numbers and depths so we can all benefit from your experiences. Of course pix are always nice.
