The snow is finally melting and I had my first hunt of 2011. It was short (only 2 hours) but productive. I found a new site with a lot of promise and plenty of area to keep me busy. It is private property with a couple of picnic areas, wooded area, open fields and old cellar holes. The property has a history that dates back to the 1840's. Yes, I did obtain permission to hunt it. I hit one of the small picnic area that is about 2 acres and 80% is still covered in snow but the ground isn't frozen. I found $1.80 in clad, 5 wheat's 19, 24, 28, 29, & 44 (no D on the 24) and 2 Merc's 36 & 41. It was a good way to start off the year!!
