Well i finally was able to break the bad luck streak after the large cent!!! I have haven't had any luck at all lately,, a merc or indian hear or there but nothing worth posting... Justdigit and i have been planning on doing a little driving to hit some parks that we haven't and hopefully other's haven't pounded either!! I just bought a new pair of head phones and changed my settings around, so the first hour of hunting was like walking in the dark... Jack already pulled a silver merc and 4 wheat penny's and all i had under my belt was junk!!! Seriously junk!!! jack even said,, i thought you where hear to dig coins!!!! lol well finally after about an hour the detector started to make since again!!! i pulled a wheat then a 1912D barber around 9 inches shortly after!!! We drove about fifteen min to another bark. Jack was going to hunt one baseball field,, and i was going to hunt another,,, And we were going to yell for the one another if we started pulling some goodies!!! After about 10 min jack was yelling at me, i walked over and he had about 5 wheats and 1 1893 indian!!! As soon as i turned my detector on, i took five steps and got a deep sweet sound,, i dug down and about 8 inches pulled a whore out 26 merc!! I hunted the field with jack for about two hours,, he pulled another merc from the field, and i pulled another 1918S DEEP merc, my whole digger was in the hole!! i also pulled a crusty 1881 indian,, 2 silver rings "one honker" and a round copper disk that was about 10/11 inches,,, it is completely worn on both sides!!! i cant tell if its a coin or just a copper slug!! and 6 more wheat penny's.. Oh and i almost forgot,, i also found 2 copper relics,, I have no clue on what either one is,, one has some symbol on the bottom,, and the other has copper wire twisted together i a circle,, then has a plate in the middle with a women engraved,,, If anyone has a clue, please give some info!!!! So just a simple thing like new headphones can change your whole finding experience ?? WOW I didn't know that was an issue. I know good phones are a big plus factor..but didn't know it could effect your whole program settings. Something else for me to consider.
 
Hey Elton, Those new headphones he had were great, but they were not the ones Derrell had been using so the sounds were "different" until he started digging wheats and silver coins. Those Koss headphones are good, but the new Sunray headset sounds are different and once he started digging he made me look bad, all that DEEP stuff, the 1918 Merc was truly deep, especially when I had to climb down the sides to see the imprint of the coin in the ground. It was a good day and a great time.

LOL i don't know if it's true about climbing in the hole:yikes:,, but it was deep!!!!!! lol Everything else is true!!!!! Thanks for yelling at me to some hunt that ball field with you jack!!!! :biggrin:
 
one looks like a drawer pull from a series of file drawers like a mail desk. The other... humm not sure about the other, but im old so i know ive seen those before. Man you guys are doing great.... you make me look forward to coming home... well as long as its cold maybe not. Great finds ... :thumbup: HH

Thet are still in the car Dave, I will probably dig them out tomorrow after work and post them, I'm letting Derrell bask in the glory right now!! The boy was kicking A$$ today, anybody close should watch this kid in action!!
 
Thats the beauty of this hobby Derrell, we got a chance to have some fun and it wouldn't be any fun if I had been digging all that good stuff and you over on the other side of the Park whining :cry: but you could have shared some of that silver :super:!! Had a great time and we need to do this again, maybe even bring Dave out to dig those pull tabs for us!!

I'm not sure what the disk is!!! I held it up to a 2 cent piece, and it matched up perfectly,,, But it's so thin!!! completely worn on both sides!!!! I used the SEF all day yesterday... And it worked great... You should do very well with yours!!!! Just think of how wet that ground will be when the snow melts!!!! You will be on fire my friend!!!! Take care and good luck bud

That's what i think the one item is as well!!!! The weather is nice in Indiana at the moment... But if i was you, i would stay put for as long as you can!! you know how quickly it can change!!!! lol Take care bud,, And good luck!!!

You were kicking butt as well!!! you didn't have to tell everyone that i was whining lol I was getting jelouse that you were finding all those wheat penny's in 6 inches of frozen dirt,,, and i was finding pop bottle caps, and junk lol Thanks for going with me!!!!! And we need to go back soon!!!!!! before those guys who supposonly hunted out the park,, hunt it out lol I cant believe how many deep coins wee found,, and how many dig holes i saw from other people!!! take care bud

Thanks for posting your finds...fun to see em! Makes me want to get my new SEF back out in the mud again, Now where might there be more of the HONKIN SILVER!
