Finally got back out......

Bill Ladd

New member
for just a couple hours after work.....
Nice to get back into it, and I was able to get familiar with the T2's all metal mode. I have to say I like it ALOT. (Brad you were right). Perfect for my type of relic hunting in fields at least, probably not around a trashy foundation site. All metal gives a nice powerful 1 tone unit WITH the numeric ID on the LCD still. I ran sensitivity @ 70, and yes, you hear all the metal objects, & run with a bit of non-bothersome threshold hum. I only dug signals over 40 (iron is lesser #'s). I saw lots of 20's & 30's iron items, & just skipped over 'em. In a large field with sparce signals it was nice to hear it all and "pick" my poisons to dig.
In a hard hunted colonial field I was able to muster up quite a few targets till it gut dark (The backlight will be great on the F-75). I got these small early buttons (usually 50-60's numbers). The top 2 are pewter & all were deep. Also, this brass skeleton key was a solid "84" and I thought "coin" for sure....

A little while later I got another nice tone I thought had "coin possibilities"....(70's numbers).
Up came this large cent sized copper disc, partially broken & I saw words on a thinner piece of copper with an edge that once covered it. Possibly a faked coin or token that had a thin layer rotting away...

hard to tell, but probably not a newer cover or something....could have been a cheap medal or something too?
I hope it was not the remains of one of those mega-rare indian piece medals or something :surrender:
I didn't end up with a coin this time, but it was nice to swing the T2 and try all metal. Only took a few targets to get comfortable with it that way.......
Here are a few more odds & ends...
The round thing with 2 arms on the left is an interesting unknown piece that needs ID...

thanks for looking,

Hi Bill! Thanks for sharing your day with us and congratulations on some interesting relic finds. Hunting with a new detector on a site like your field is a great way to baptize the detector and challenge your hunting know-how with it. ;)

Best Regards and Happy Hunting.

Dude its OK on the Dump but in England???? Where next, maybe Tasmania?:surrender:

Barnacle Bill says you cant post your T2 stuff here no more.....its ashame that he got promoted to forum moderater.

I usually do try to share my T2 finds with that forum, (still might). It takes some time to re-do picture/text posts, & I just chose this area first to try to add some positive stuff here after all the flack...that's all...
HH,
Bill

has informed me that all those England trips feature coins-trinkets that are all planted before hand.

Another contact in Great Britian told of selling them a bag of uncleaned Roman coins. Hmmmmm.

I think I will stick to the good ol' USA :usaflag:

ebay "dirt" cheap but don't expect anything decent in them.

I highly doubt the organizers of those hunts planted the gold Celtic coins and bronze age axe heads that are found on occasion. Most of what you hear is just sour grapes.

If Bill can't talk about the T2 and the fisher and the T2 forum can't talk about fisher then I think we should all strike and support Bill Ladd on his forum.
