Hello All,
Finally got to hunt somewhere besides my own territory this past weekend. This was my first hunt, meeting up with someone from this forum. NebraskaRay and I had been talking about getting together for a hunt. So with state track finals in Omaha and my wife a coach it seemed like a good time to do this.
I met Ray Sat. morning and he drove me, his father-n-law and another detectorist by the name of Jim over into Iowa and hunted an old park and fairgrounds. Jim and Ray both managed silver coins that day - Jim with a Rosie and Ray with a barber dime. I managed a lonely (1900) IH and a little silver ring. I very much enjoyed my time and it was good to see how others hunted. Ray and I were the only ones running E-Tracs and Jim and Ray's Father-n-Law I believe ran Explorers.
Later that evening I went to another older park and managed the silver cross almost on top of the ground, it was silver also. Sun. afternoon went to another old park and hunted about 1 1/2 hours for the lone wheatie (1951D). I appreciate Ray for the invitation and the hunt....Thanks Ray!!!!
