Finally my first silver!

I had about an hour after work today and I stumbled upon what looks like an old obscure ball diamond. After digging 5 or 6 aluminum can scraps I had a good signal from one direction and a lower signal from the other direction. It was deep so what the heck. I got down to about 8 inches or so and located a piece of small pistol brass.:( I ran the pinpointer in the hole once more and got another hit. I dug a little more and:surprised: out flops SILVER! Finally!!:yo: Nothing really special, but I'll never forget it and I'm hooked!

Thanks for looking and thanks to all who have given me tips on getting to know this machine. I hope this find is the first of many!

Great find, those quarters are hard to get. Hunt that ballfield hard. You might be surprised! Ya never forget your first!

Thanks folks! I'm pretty excited about going back there and another new spot. My dad is coming to visit next week and we're gonna go hit them again. He got me into MD when he bought his GTP1350 a few months back. I hope I can put him on some silver too.
Thanks again and HH,

I would be going back to that spot! If there is Can Slaw there, then there could be some Halves in there as well since many think some Halves are Cans and walk away from them. Congrats on your first Silver my friend and hope to see you pop out many more on your next outings. Good Luck and HH to you! :detecting:

Thanks folks! I haven't gone back to the ball diamond yet but I did make a hunt yesterday at the old hunted out park and I got some cool finds. I'll post a thread about it this afternoon. I also did some more research on the old ball diamond and there were houses there around 70 years ago so who knows what I'll find. I'm pumped about going back there! Thanks for the encouraging words and HH!

Congrats on your first. 1 down and many more to come. Keep listening to these guys helpful hints and your silver will be plenty. PJ

Sounds like you found a good spot. Go back and hit it some more. Try hitting it from different angles and keep that coil low and go slow! GL and HH.

Its killing me to get back there!:smoke: I've been holding off for my dad to come and visit so I can hopefully put him on some silver too. He's finally coming up this weekend and the weather looks like it will cooperate perfectly. I've only been back there once and I basically concentrated on the same area that I had already covered and I found a 1918 wheat cent, so I know there are some oldies in there. Hopefully I'll have some more good finds to post in the next week or so.

:ninja:In a month or so he's taking me to a spot supposedly "haunted" where there were gold coins recovered way back when. The locals won't even go near it.:look:

I can't wait!:super:
