Got permission to hunt my neighbor's yard.Did a short hunt last night.Did pretty well.Got 14 pennies.12 of them were wheaties.Don't know the dates yet till I clean them up. Also got 2 dimes. One was a 1923 merk. Not bad shape. But the real find was the 1920 standing Liberty quarter. My first one. Finally!! Been looking at everyone elses for some time Now it was my time.Boy I been cutting this lady's grass for 5 years. All the time I was walking right over this quarter. What a shock when I poped it out.I showed the lady my finds at the end of the hunt and she was just as shocked as me.She said they have lived there since 1930.I was hunting in coin and jewery mode,The quarter came up at a strong 39 at 5 inches.I was thinking come on be silver...Well I was rewarded. Can't wait to get back to the yard and see what else there is.I've hunted some of my neighbors and all of them have had coins and some jewery.I always show the owners what I find. They are always surprised what their yard yeilds. But so am I...I'm in love with this Safari.Starting to get cold here in north Pa.My days are numbered. But I'll be out there till it gets to cold.Probly even after that..Thanks to to all for all your input to this site.I've learned much.Happy Hunting all..

Congratulations on your finds. SL quarters are special and they show up when least expected. The Safari is a very good machine and they will really lock onto silver as well as anything else you get your coil over. HH :minelab:

Way to go!!! I am still waiting on that one too. One day I am sure it will show up. But I know you must be waiting to clean the wheaties before you post a pix.
Thanks for sharing,
Paul

Yes Sir, congrats on the standing liberty!! I know how exciting it is to find one, found one last year in a park that had been hunted since the 70's . The coin came up a solid 38 and it was 6-8 inches down beneath a big maple tree root. Oh yeah I almost forgot, it was a 1918 in really great condition, also found a 1919 standing liberty in my own backyard a few years ago with my White's xlt. You just never know where, or when you're gonna find one. Keep up the good finds. Ron:detecting:
