Finally! The Deus knocks one off the bucket list.

Finally, I found a real! I thought I had a hammered English at first, until I saw 'ole Phil's name.

I hunted the same area last week with the Etrac and the 13" coil and the X5 coil.

Maybe I just didn't get my coil over it then. When I hit it with the deus.... I was using 0 disc. I love 0 disc and fulltones. You can really hear the nonferrous targets in the stink! Once I centered over the target, the iron buzz more or less disappeared and I had a solid hit between 83-86. Cross swing was a little jumpier, but tone was still solid. This is one of the few times that I said to myself, this could be silver.... even though I was next to iron. It was too clean, very repeatable and a bit deeper than the screw caps. (6")

Its numismatic value is worthless, but it means the world to me!

Without the Deus, I wasn't finding this. I believe that!

Hopefully, there's a few more left for me. If I could only convince the old guy to give it a plough. :)

Happy hunting!

That is one stellar find! You've got me curious about trying 0 disc at one of my parks where there are some stubborn deepies surrounded by nails. Like you, the reale would be far more valuable to me personally than any book value! Great job and I hope you eke out some more there!

Thanks, beepsilver!

Give it a shot man. It is noisy, but that's where the deus shines... I just turn the volume down a bit. Audio response was at 4. I can still hear the whisper signals.

0 disc goes a little deeper as well. I dug an Oshkosh button , no ID (00 and 01), but the high tone was there in the iron.... consistently. I wish the full tones had a broader range, but it is pretty good.

Great find glad to hear you are so happy..that is what this hobby is all about

1700's Silver - an outstanding find - congrats ! :beers:
