Well I finally got my first silver half.
I got up early Sunday morning and went out for 2 hours but forgot the bug spray.Wow was that dumb! Got nothing but itchy.
Went out again in the evening for an hour.With my trusty can off Deep Woods Off. I went to a tiny park that I have gone over many times and lately have found nothing. This night was different.
Just before dark I dug a very iffy irony signal and pulled up the 1894 IH at about 10".. On my way to the car I got a very strong signal over an area that I had been over 10 times before .I dug a 6" plug stuck the probe in and got a real sweet sound. 2 more inches and could see the rim in the plug.Wow what a sweet surprise.
The last couple of hunts produced the trumpet mouth piece,flag pin,50's cub scout wolf pin,1946 Jefferson and the wheaties:

Congrats on the big silver.

I was lucky last year to get a day or 2 of hunting each week....but now both of those days are filled with mowing my dad's property and then my own the next day.

Less hunt time...but more time spent with Dad.:) :thumbup:

It's funny that you can go over a small patch of ground so many times and never find a coin like that and then on the same piece of turf boom there it is. Weird. HH and GL to you.
 
Congrats GR on your first silver half. And what a beauty she is:clapping: Gotta love that feeling of seeing that big silver in the hole.
 
SWEET!!!! Aint it great!? Congrats on the half - they sure are few and far between. I know what you mean about finding something at a spot you and others have hit before - I attribute that to a "perfect storm" at that given moment of conditions, coil location, ambition, positive attitude, settings and luck.

Just ribbing you a little..great finds...........congrats. "That big stuff is hard to find".
 
Congrats on that WLF. It's hard to find a silver Half of any type. I've only found one WLF ever myself & that was last fall in a woods.
 
lack of blood sucking insects drilling holes in the back of your neck surely helps the ying...and the yang.GL and HH...GR
