Finally!!

Hey guys!

Well, I think im getting the hang of my new safari. I've slowed it down a lot, and guess what, way better finds! I found my second oldest coin today, a 1909 wheat. Then about thirty minutes later I found a 1911 V nickel. The wheat was about 7 or 8 inches deep, and the nickel was only about 4 inches deep, kinda weird, but oh well! Thanks!

PS, no silver yet, but ill keep hunting!

Kurtis, not so weird. For many th'ers, nickels will sound a lot like pull tabs, and are avoided. So there are buffalos and v's still out there for the rest of us. Congrats.

Did you check the wheatie to see if its a 1909 s V.D.B yet? If it is be careful if you decide to clean it. Nice finds, I don't have a good V-nickel, I found one, rinsed the dirt off and the coin was gone!

Yeah, it was just a plain 1909, but it was cool to find anyway! Yeah, that's the only nickel I've found metal detecting, so it was awesome!
