Find the Quarters and Find the Rings

At least I read that somewhere. The ring happened to be the first target (less than 5 minutes). I think the ring is rose gold. It has "Faith" inscribed on the inside.

Found the quarters (a spill) about an hour later. The AQ did well. Took the Excal out into the water but didn't find much. The waves proved a bit difficult.

Nice find with the ring. All I got today was some clad, can tabs and a decent pair of no name sun glasses that look new. Surprisingly, I did not bend or ding up the sunglasses when I dug them in the water nor did I turn up any bottle caps.

Thanks. Been really enjoying the 8" coil on the AQ. More stable than the 12". Was hoping to stay out in the water, but those waves beat me up.

Overall though, I would say we both had a good day.

I'm going to have to dig out my 8 inch coil for the AQ. I did not see any real advantage with it but did not try it in places where interference drives me away from the AQ and to the Excal.

Let me know how it performs. I purchased the 8" (along with another AQ) last month. I have this crazy theory it may have to do with the high-capacity battery married to the 8" coil. I tried the 12" the other day and the swooshing was awful...even on the slope. I need to check all of the configurations. Two detectors, two 12" coils, and one 8". The problem I have had (recently) is the success with the 8" coil. Obviously, it's a good problem and one that causes me to forget about experimenting with various configurations. Maybe I will look into it after the vacation crowd leaves.
