Finds from a 1860's church. Strange Key??

I had a day off last Friday, and decided to go detecting. The weather was a perfect 72 degrees, and the location was just as amazing. I went to an old 1860's church located in a full acre in the middle of nowhere. I attached my new go to coil, the NEL 12x13, and went to a small patch of grass in front of the church. The NEL absolutely locks on targets for me like no other. It beats the Pro and 10x12 SEF on depth by a good inch, and separates just as well as the Pro. It is super light, and balances on the E-trac like a dream. (Not trying to sell one, just want to share my opinion.) I began digging out targets right and left. I have covered about 1/5 of the total property, and can not wait to go back. I finished the day with a 1952 Silver Quarter, a 1928 Mercury, 3 IH's, and 15 Wheat Pennies. I also found this strange key that I have been unable to identify. The design is unlike any I have found before. I am wondering if it may be a handcuff key.?? I will post more finds when I get another chance to go.
Thanks for looking!

Nice finds I would definitely hit that one up again and again!

Nice finds.
I'm thinking your key is from a windup mantle or wall clock.
Maybe it looks weird because half of the handle is missing.
My clocks have similar looking keys, but they have both "ears" attached.
If you can look at the end,I'll bet it has a square hole in it.

Thanks bentrac, I will be going back soon.

Thanks dirty, you are exactly right. It is square. A clock key never even crossed my mind. Thank for the help.

Very nice digs - and yes ... I'd go back to this site ASAP !

Congrats Silverman on some awesome finds and thanks for post, good luck with return visits.

Good to see you out and about. I'm looking forward to seeing what else you dig up at that spot! Thanks for the picture.
