Another great day hunting and a first for me The barber quarter is the first I have ever found. I have barber halves and barber dimes but barber quarters have eluded me till now.
My XS was on fire I don't know why because I have hit this same spot several times in the past. My buddy hunting with me called me over on one of the mercs his XS with a 8" coil was registering a visual signal but no sound produced on it. I swung it with my 10" coil and there was a perfect silver signal. It was 8" deep dry ground
He is new to his explorer this year and runs with a Little discrimination and I run mine wide open with ferrous

We all now that the E-Trac seems to be the up and coming replacement for all the older Explorers, but it does my heart good to see posts like yours who are still only using the Explorer XS and still being able to come up with some very nice old coins. Great job and long live the XS!! I can't wait to see some of the great finds like yours the E-Trac may produce to really put the Explorer users to rest, but I for one will never put my XS in the retirement home...............
