Getting the hang of the ET and really liking it. I believe the large cent is a Coronet type... found at a cellar hole. The other coins were from an old fairground/park that was built in the 1860's. It has been hit hard but found a few they missed. (found 9 barber dimes here last year learning the ET and just digging silver signals) The coins this year are 1900 and 1909 IH. Can't see if the 09 has an S mint mark because of crud..soaking it in oil now. The 98 dime was black so I cleaned it. Looks a little too shiny now but in AU condition. The quarters are 1914 D and 1943 S, Buffalo is 1929 along with 10 wheaties. Also found a shield nickel (with rays) but tried to clean it and ruined it by removing the patina. Don't think I will try to clean nickels anymore. The buckles and buttons were at celllar holes. The buckles measure aprox. 2" x 3 1/4" so assume they are shoe buckles. A 1940 dog tag (Orange MA) was from a some kind of industrial site that my hunting partner "Curt_in_W.Mass" found. The site looks older than 1940 but but we can't go back until the ticks are less active.
I would like to use multi-tone but it is too confusing (too many sounds to figure out and digging way too many rusty nails) So using 2 tone with ferrous sounds, switching between all metal and ferrous at 27. It catches all the coins I have tested and seems to be working for me but wondering if I am missing something by ignoring the lower ferrous tones.
