Ok so I didn't pay for the detector the first time out with all my great finds......;o) I went to a spot that I have dug some deep civil war bullets before. Got a good sounding deep signal and dug down about 8 inches and was still not getting a signal on my pinointer. Decided to give up because the ground was so hard and move on to a local park. I will dig that one after it rains and the ground softens up.
At the park I just took my time trying to get a feel for the detector. I would find a target and then play around with the settings just to see if the target signal got better or worse sometimes. I was able to find some clad and a few wheat pennies. This park is not real old so chances are I was not going to get anything super old but I know there is some silver there. It really seems to be a nickel magnet. I found some older nickels that had to be there for a long time. I may go out again today if its nice........
