finished pics of solid sef cover

He guys, Well here are pics of my SEF coils with the solid coil covers in place for hunting wooded overgrown areas where a SEF coil might have a problem getting hung up. I built it out of a plastic boot tray ( $1.79 investment). I think I might have to replace the dzip ties with heavier ones at some point but I had these on hand.

Thats awesome! I love it when people think for themselves and become creative. I know we are a small community but I bet you could have sold a bunch of these to others that lack the resources to do it for themselves. Bravo!!!

there is tiny pieces of metal in the zip ties but I don't know if that will bother the coil ... cool Idea

Good news, I dissected one of the zip ties and there is no metal in the ones I used but good info for the future if I have to replace the zip ties with heavier ones. HH.

I know they used to have a little bit on the big end and that is what locked it down ... cool

Only one thing I would change on your "new" cover, is, get rid of the lugs on the bottom, it's possible they may cause resistance when scanning the ground. I also have tried your design, but I used side out of platic milk jug. Much lighter.....nge

Good job !

Thanks guys. nge, I tried it out yesterday and had no problem with it in a wooded area. Also it really does not weight nothing so that was not really a issue. I wanted some thicker material to make it a little more durable.
