First 15 in DD review

Not quite what I'd call a review, and they don't give a lot of background on the test (was it an air test, or in ground test, I assume it was an air test based on the limited data).

Google teknetic T-2 15'' coil and look for treasuredownunder.

It's interesting that treasuredownunder only tested the coil in all metal mode, I don't know how many people routinely hunt in AM (I've tried it in parks, not good).

It's going to fun to see how the results with this coil unfold - how about hunting in static all metal mode? Better yet, how about hunting in static AM mode with the boost process enabled

I'm mostly interested to see how it hunts in disc mode with the boost process enabled, but I can imagine some unreal depths in the AM mode variants (I'll test AM mode).

I caved and preorderd one. I have a few parks in mind for testing where coins are deep, and just out of reach or masked (I pulled a measured 11"+ SLQ from one, and the park predates SLQs so who knows how deep barber or potentially seated quarters are). I doubt this monstrosity will help unmask targets, but it should punch down to that next strata of coins....at least I hope it does. I'm excited to see how this coil does.

Good points Brian . We will see on the masking and depth.
NASA Tom made a good point on coils , with the 5 and 11 DD.
The 5in can get over 10 inches in his soil but its field strength drops considerably
after 8 inches. A small flake of rust can mask it at depth were the 11 DD can
power past that flake of rust .
Hopeful the big 15 can do the same.

Maybe First Texas can loan one to Low-Boy. He has some some pretty heavy mineralization in N. Calif...that would be how to test it. Lawrenzo is a very experienced detectorist and has run several First Texas machines.

Lawrenzo is a good detectorist, I've hunted with him before. Where he lives in the gold country where dirt is indeed mineralized, as it is where I live in N. California, but targets tend to be fairly shallow in his neck of the woods and amongst a lot of iron vs inner city parks that I hunt where old silver is ridiculously deep and you have mineralized soil to deal with.

Geez I may have to take a trip to my dealer and do some bartering..Alot of the ground I hunt here in SWLMi. has a very fast sink rate, all of my early to mid 1900 coins have been 7-9 inches deep, with one 1900 wheat @ 11'' plus...hh rick in mi.

OOOPPSS my bad that was a 1909 wheat not a 1900.
