First 2 hours Hunting in 08 nearly caused a change of shorts:heh:

Well I finally got out for about 45 minutes the other day...then met up with niterider_58 yesterday for another 1 1/2 hours. I was stuck at work for the 3 days of 60 degree temps we had:thumbdown:...but at least I got a couple of hours in. 08 started out just where 07 left off.....diggin' goodies:super:. Nothin spectacular...but at least I dug some deepies. I found my first cache and just about dumped a load in my britches when I saw it in the ground. It was the last dig of the day and it was a solid quarter hit at 4". I figured what the heck...I'll bend over for a clad quarter. When I got the hole dug I saw this coin purse...fully intact...and still zipped shut...and FULL of coins!! I did not open it..and decided to dream of silver all the way home. When I got home I placed a towel on the desk and carefully opened it hoping for silver to come rolling out. WRONG...ALL CLAD...but still a nice and thrilling find and the latest coin was from the early 70's. Maybe next time.
Ended the day with a few wheaties..2 silver Roosey's...the 1901 injun...the clad cache... a tiny sterling silver heart charm from 7" down...a very heavy solid sterling silver ring..and the Roman coin charm which nearly made me fill my britches again...cause it L@@KED real in the ground.

Nice Injun... and ring ta boot..
You should see the Injuns I find in the water
Not even worth posting
Great start fer 2008 mate...
Now that is what I call "NITRO" all clad EH....Maybe next time..

Great start to the year! All the coin purses and compacts I ever found were empty... so I guess clad is better than nothing. I did find what was left of an old wallet with 2 standing and 2 barber quarters in it years ago, but they were in such terrible shape from corrosion I almost wished I hadn't found them at all. Take care and HH, Mike.

A "Cache" is a "Cache" is "Cache" no matter what kind of money is in it. Congratulations on a thrilling find. (Bet that got the old heart pumping Hu)
As hard as it is to believe not many detectorists find a cache. A few sure..but not as many as one would think...Your now in the Elite group.

a change of clothes. If those babies would have been silver rolling out of the purse...I would have needed some toilet paper:clapping:

it was full...and I mean full. When I plopped it on my flatbed scanner...many of the coins are still in the purse and only about half of them show up in the pic. Too bad they weren't mercs...barbers, slq's and injuns...but oh well. It was a find I won't forget.
I'm going to try and head your way a couple of times this summer. I'll slip you a PM when I do and see if we can't pound some ground together.

at least you are finding them. The ground is hard enough on them so I can only imagine what the water has done to them. Keep on inspiring me with your posts buddy...and sooner or later I'll have a water machine too...and I don't have any water within 200 miles!:smoke:

Good going Bryce,
too much excitement by the looks of things !
What's going to happen when you find your first OLD gold dollar ?

I can just see you... Heh heh

You might have start wearing Depends just in case you do un-load

Bryce you are getting ready for that big cash of coins you are going to find this summer !!! Glad to see you out and finding cool stuff.Good luck on your next hunt.Spring is getting somewhat closer.Have a good one.

I'd probably pass out. A gold coin has always eluded me and it's my own fault. I just simply don't have the time to dig all signals. I usually go for injun hits...on up the scale. Once I have beat a site to death...then I'll start digging lower hits though.

MAYBE WE SHOULD CONSIDER GETTING A COUPLE OF EXCALIBURS SO WE CAN HUNT IN THE RAIN LOL :minelab:

I've already thought of that. I'm even thinking about the new cz21. I'll probably never be anywhere any water...but at least we can hunt in a downpour if we want:clapping:

Too bad that Coin Purse wasn't loaded with Barber Quarters and such. Nice Finds. It's always a good thing to dig a lot of the Shallower Coin Hits. You never know what will come out of the ground. Good Luck and HH.
