I love this machine. The site I was hunting has some really bad EMI, the Deus handled it amazingly! The other machines I've used there were just a struggle to hear good signals with.

Any info on the button? I know very little about buttons.

The ring reads sterling and Im thinking its old but I'm not sure. Missing some stones though...

Nice finds. Its a US military button, probably not too old since the brass is in such good shape. Most of them will have an eagle. There may be a letter to help identify the branch. Google "US military buttons" and you should be able to find it. I noticed you have a shotgun shell. Clean it up and google the info on it. Some of these are quite rare and will help identify a site. A few weeks ago I worked an old home site and between an 1888 IH and some shotgun shells, was able to identify the site as early post CW. HH

Thanks for the info on the button. I did a bit of googling hoping I had a gold gilded button.. owell was still neat to find.

The site I'm hunting is an old house from around 1890. Tons of iron. Took a couple detectors there and had so so finds. The Racer 2 did pretty good there but nothing near as well as the Deus. The EMI just made the Racer go crazy. I'll be slowly peeling the layers off this site.

I'll clean those shells up and see what I get. HH
