FIRST ENFIELD.

Went back into the wooded farm lane, at the new permission I got back in January. During the war this was a heavy traveled lane, that is now wooded over, but still detectable. Recently bought a Nel sharpshooter for the A.T. pro, worked quite well in there. Later in the day I went into the open field with the T2SE, that's where I got my first Enfield. Thanks for looking.

Some good looking confederate lead! Congrats!

Cool nose cast Enfield! Looks like you need to go back and vacuum that site.

Thanks Ironman, I find a lot of Gardner's, first Enfield though. Are they less common than a Gardner? Thanks...

WTG on your first enfield. That's a really nice find. Hope you get more.

Depends on your region. Where I live in Missouri, I find mostly nose-cast 3-ringers, .69 musket balls, and Enfields at Confederate sites. I only have a handful of Gardeners. I presume the arsenals that supplied the Trans-Mississippi forces cranked out more Enfields and Minies.

Cool finds buddy

Here in my part of Virginia you find a lot more gardners than you do enfields. Not sure why that is.
