First House Checked... With Pictures

These are my finds from house #1 checked on Saturday and today 5 hours total.

1921 Large British Penny...6 silver mercurys, 2 silver roosies,1947 Panama Balboa silver dime. 1844 Large Cent, 1863 Indian Head, 1908 pretty worn barber dime. a half dollar size British 10 pence, about 20 wheats..., a July 9 1907 dated Rogers silver butter knife and get this..not one clad coin at all...beats me. Everything I found was 7" to 9" deep...Sorry for the lousy pictures.as my camera really sucks.

Wow Herb...looks like those fliers are gonna pay off for ya big time. Can't wait to see what you pull out of the other yards!

Congrats Herb!! If only all the houses would produce like that!!! Glad to see those fliers paid off for you.

I'm gonna be down your way if a few weeks, maybe we can hook up for a short hunt together.

AMAZING

It could not have come out much better than these results

It is as if we are reading a good book and awaiting the next chapter..so keep it coming

No need for good wishes but I send them any way

Herb this is GREAT to follow! Exciting! Any thought on documenting exact locations and then posting a "hot spot" list not specific to individual lot. Hot spots for late 1800 home lifestyle! This would be an excellent resource with the data. I had an opportunity to hunt a recently burned down early 1900's house for about 2 hours...these 1900 NUTS just buried sheet metal ALL over the front and back yard bout. 3" deep.. BIG pieces too! Not to mention the site pretty much was reclaimed by nature. Most of my time was spent digging and pulling out sheet metal just to get a good swing.

To simplify looks like I am asking for "a plan of attack" After you finish a group of houses review the information and post how you would detect if you only had an hour to spend at a late 1800s house. AT THE SHEET METAL FARM. I DETECTED:
1. Adjacent to driveway
2. Front doorarea
3. Back stoop
4. Then wandered around aimlessly along a path of least resistance

Well I was doing it wrong cause all I found was globs of 1/4 lb silver until I was informed my silver was not silver but "HAHA you idiot, that's lead"

I am thinking this "attack plan" will help me and possibly others. THANKS FOR YOUR POSTS!
