Wow! I don't seem to log on here anymore unless I find something and want to post it. . .but you guys are all on fire! Lots of great stuff comin' out of the ground for everyone!

And to Guvner and Bryce - You guys are kickin @ss too! Call me one of these days when you're heading out and maybe I can meet up with you. It's always a blast! If nothing else, I seem to be good at finding clad lately. . .I'll probably just clean up the dirt for you guys. . .

I finally managed to get out again today, and had some luck. It's my first SL quarter this year, and she's a beauty! The other stuff isn't anything special, but I never get tired of seeing silver in the hole! I get out so seldom now, and our parks in good ol' StL are so heavily hunted that I get excited over any silver, almost like when I first started detecting. . .perspective is a funny thing.

Out of all 6 of these silvers, only 2 sounded like they might be silver. The others were all on edge and in iron. 2 of the 3 quarters, including the SL were a total shock to me. They both ID'ed as pennies, and had iron in the hole with them. Just one more reason to always dig those penny hits. . .

Good hunting,

Mark

Way to go Mark. I love the shape of that SLQ. Keep up the great finds.

Mark, Excellent job and its great to see you posting again. I would LOVE to find a SLQ, its one of my hopes to find this year.

Thanks for the posts! I looked through my notes this past weekend, and determined that in my 10 years of metal detecting, I've found 13 SL quarters, and 8 of them have dates, so I've been pretty lucky, I think, considering how easily those coins wore. . .

Michelob, I think this weekend is gonna be it for you - you'll have a SLQ to post by Sunday night - I'm callin' it. . .(if it happens, I'm gonna look SO psychic. . .)

Good hunting,

Mark
