Hey guys,
It's been a while since I posted anything here. I haven't been getting out that much, about 7 or 8 times this year has been it, but I still lurk here once a month or so. It's always great to see the stuff everyone's digging up. . .
Anyway, I got out two of the last three weekends and managed to scrounge a little silver and a few civil war bullets out of the ground.
First is the silver - all dimes, but I'm not complaining. . .7 silvers in 2 trips is pretty decent for me. I got 6 of them this past Saturday, and one (the 1942 merc) two weeks ago.
The civil war bullets all came on the hunt two weeks ago as well. The pinfire bullet is a first for me, and it was really cool to dig one up. I've been wanting one for a while, and this one looks really nice. There's a G on the bottom of the brass - not sure what that means, maybe one of you relic experts can help me out. . .
The silver ingot was from the last time I got out before the trip two weeks ago. I can't even remember when that was anymore, except that it was before summer. . .I just thought I'd include it, because I never found anything like it before.
I left all the wheaties and the couple of buffaloes and the one little indian head that I dug out of the pics, as well as a really ugly 2-cent piece that I'm gonna try to clean up and post later.
These things pale next to the stuff from Bob's trip up north, but I thought I'd post 'em anyway. I'm still waiting to see Golddigger's pictures from the hunt. . .
Hopefully, I'll keep getting out here and have a little more post soon. . .
Good hunting,
Mark (MO)
