took the new ctx out for a test run today no digging as still snow and ice here in northern vt..likes:balance good, sound clear, picked up deep signal,s 9 plus inches as by depth gaugeno way to prove at this time . all signals oner 4plus inches of ice and snow plus frozen ground. dislikescan,t see the screen due to glare bright sun and snow washed out any view of the screen could not find any contrast adjustments. iwanted to try my gps and map out an area but could not see to set up program I,ll have to work on this .all in all like the ctx can,t wait for real detecting weather

I found that setting the backlight to ON and a Brightness of 8, helps me with being able to read the screen in the sunlight.

Sounds like someone is ready to go! Nothing like getting something you want but can't 100% use it yet.......just another month....!

I did the same, as soon as I had it together took it for a trip around the yard. I was impressed right off seeing signals.

It's definitely an impressive machine, its only my 2nd detector, my 1st being my AT Pro so I don't have much experience for comparison purposes, but my AT Pro feels like a toy next to my CTX, weight has a lot to do with that though, but I get much better depth in our highly mineralized soil here in the Pacific NW. Didn't find any silver coins until I upgraded.
