First Seated Liberty Dime (1878 non-CC)

Another one to check off the list. Found it at one of my regular sites (active beach 1870s - 1920s, now forest). Condition is pretty bad, but hey, it's my first seated dime!

Once again, the 15" 3khz WOT earns its place as a dime mega-magnet. This coin was about two inches deep, on edge, in a bank, next to a square nail. Nothing seems to sink in this rooty, sandy loam and I habitually pick up 19th century shotgun shell heads from on top of the forest floor.

Nothing like removing dirt from a hole and seeing one of these beauties lying in it. Good score on the seated dime!

Nice find , you know I think the constant growing of roots keep pushing the soil up plus in a woods no wind blown sand , and no gophers ver nice find

That's what it's all about - congrats ! :clapping:!
