Spent several hours today at a civil war hospital site that has not been productive by any means. On the way to the field where I hunt I have to cross a small creek, which had flooded recently. As usual, I swung my detector on the way through the area because you never know. Near the creek bank I got a screaming signal in the cw bullet range showing a depth of 8". I was pleasantly surprised to not pull out a bullet, but a 1905 barber instead. I jumped the creek and hunted the small strip of woods, dodging the flooded areas and was able to recover a nice Gardner as well.
