First silver with V3i

I went to a small park for the first time today. My wife said she used to play there when she was a kid so I knew it was old. It is just a small corner lot where a house once stood and now its a park. The first coin I found was a 45 wheatie and then I found my first silver. It was showing 84-87 at 6 inches deep It had a nice roll to the tone with a slow sweep. It is worn so thin I can't make out much detail. It has a crown on the reverse side with 25 under it and a wreath all around the edges. There is a bust on the front but all I can make out are some letters around the edges. Any Idea what it is? I found a good bit of clad another wheatie and two old pad locks. i was using the High trash mode and really like it. thanks for all the information you guys ahve been giving me too, Jim

It looks like a Canadian quarter and an older one at that. Someone will come up with a range of dates for that style, I don't have my coin book handy right now or I could look that up for you. I know it is early 1900's like 1912 for instance.

1911-1936 were the King George quarters, the could just make out the 25 underneath the crown. The date should be just above the bow at the bottom. Nice find Jim, I haven't seen one of them posted in a while.

Thanks guys, I didn't know where to look for the date but I just looked with my magnifing glass and it is worn smooth,

the date on those is really weak to begin with, i got a 1919 with a clear king but can barely read the date. but hay its old its silver and not an every day find. awesome ! good luck and happy hunting!
