First Silver

So these are my finds for my fist week of detecting. I purchased my v3 about 2 weeks ago and spent the first week practicing and reading the posts here.
Sorry for the pic quality as I used my cell phone. I found: A spoon, 2 brass clasps, lots of clad, a 45 bullet, a bell of some kind, a gold earring and my first silver. I think it is a 1940 walking liberty?
Thanks so much for the great posts I think at least some of the info is starting to sink in. Or maybe it's just beginners luck:spin:
I found the silver at 5 1/2 inches using coin/jewelry with no mods. I was using the v3 with the DD factory coil just poking around on a friends old property here in Boise, ID.

Just great keep up the good work and don't forget to post your finds.:clapping: Rob

Yep, that is what it is!!!! With finds like that I would keep poking.

Congratulations on a great first Walker!

I started detecting in 2005, and didn't find a Walker until 2008. Then I got one in 2009, and 2 so far this year, both in the month of April!
You are off to a fantastic start. Keep plugging away!

See if there's a detecting club in your area--it's a great way to meet experienced people who will work with you, and who will appreciate seeing your finds in person.

All the best,

Mike

You are off to a great start Nathan........... Congratulations on the beautiful Walker.
