I've had the 17" coil for a week before I finally put it on. Went over to the old boys camp close to home for 3.5hrs. I'm sold on the large coil, swings nice, seems much quieter than the stock coil, possibly something wrong with the stock coil. It is noticeably heavier than the stock and you will feel it. I found switching arms with every target was the way to go and also improves our off arm detecting skills, overlapping is not an issue and the slow pace with the off arm is perfect. The 17 seemed to give very solid tones on deep (10-12") targets.
I keep going back to this camp as it continues to spit silver, 27 since I started this hobby. This property was also detected 6 years ago by someone else for 3 days, guess he missed a few things. I will do a wrap up on the camp when I feel I'm done for the year. Both mercs were from an area I gridded and were 10" deep, great solid tone on both. The 1914 Barber Q was the first signal I got with the 17, surely a good way to start. The full date 1928 SLQ was found in front of one of the old cottages, thought I searched it well but.... Again great overlapping and slower pace from the large coil.

The leather wallet or coin pouch was only 5" down and was in a small area that was not searched before. It was a pretty awesome find and came up closed....ANTICIPATION...OPEN....DARN! No shiny silver looking back, 21 wheat pennies 1919-1945 and a 1940 nickel. I dug 6 other wheat's in addition to the pouch.

My review on the 17" coil, love it can't wait to get out today. Great overlapping, slower swing speed, solid target lock and tones, no problem pinpointing, I use the wiggle back method and again at 90 degrees. Not the best for all situations, if you have a location without a ton of trash, and one you have been over a bunch strap on the 17 and pull some more bling.
HH, thanks for looking
