First Texas Customer Service dosen't seem to monitor the T2 forum so i figure I'd post this here:ranting:

How in the $%^^# can First Texas justify designing and releasing 5 new detectors f2,f4,f5,f70 & f75 4 with accessory coils + 3 new Teknetics detectors on the back burner (Delta 4000, Gamma 6000 and Omega 8000) and not design "one" small coil which "they advertised" would be produced for the T2? I've emailed customer service receiving absolutely no repsonse and called them getting the same answer " they are working on it and it will be released ummmm next year". What Gives? Maybe Fisher Customer Service (which appears to be better than the Teknetics side) can pass this up to "Corporate Level" in the next meeting. Alot of Paying Customers would sure be happy!

I was also told that there was one in the wings for the T2........but havent seen or heard anything since. I agree that its every bit as good a practice to support and make accessories for existing machines as it is to develop new ones. maybe if we keep hollering about it.......someone will sit up and take notice!!! Streak!

I've wondered about that for a LONG TIME myself Adam.---I always thought that T2 owners really got a "bad rap" on that one.--They should have at least made 1 small accessory coil for the T2-that was ONE of the reasons that we got rid of the (2) T2's we had--it"s almost like they have "abandoned" that detector (in that regard).---Remember when they came out with the small coil for the F75?--It was released some later than was scheduled, apparently due to problems in the development of the coil-and I can understand that, those things happen.---But it DID come out.---a small coil SHOULD be produced for the T2.--It surely can't be THAT big of a problem-one was developed for the F75.---I suppose it's all got to do with economics.-----While we are on the coil subject---how about a 5X10 DD coil for the F70/75???????

I did half decent with the T2 in that red dirt at Brandy Rock:crazy:; Hunting in All-Metal with the coil about 7-8 inches off the ground is the secret with the T2 and the Shadow x5. You just have to know what to listen for :detecting:

I'm not sure if you guys are hoping for a small DD-coil or just a small coil in general? What I do know is that the tooling for a whole new coil design is super expensive, and I learned with Fisher that extra coil sales in general are not real money makers & often don't justify the expense of a totally new design. As you can see the $ is in releasing brand new units rather than coils....
That said, what can be done maybe is what was done for the small F75 coil. Take an existing coil housing design and make a small coil for the T2. Hopefully this will happen when all the new units are out & there's some time to dedicate to coils. A small DD coil would be killer, but they would probably do one for the F75 first since that is the bigger seller. But, I often take my T2 into iron loaded sites instead due to the 20 more points of iron resolution. Even with the big coil, with 1 tone & disc @ 21 it's hard to beat even with the stock coil (similar to the F75 on disc 6 & 1 tone that NasaTom was talking about)....

Bill

with one tone and disc. at 21 don't you have to watch the meter very close to see the targets you want to dig. thanks.

AND THE ANSWER IS ,

At the moment we do not have one available.

Thank you,

First Texas Products

Maybe I will ask again on a Friday:stars:

Do you have Veronica Castro's email? Maybe all the T2 user's should email them once a day and ask if there is one in production yet!

Follow this link to the T 2 page. At the bottom of the page is "contact us" Send your email there.

Good luck

As I understand, the T2 will only use DD's. There was not a suitable smaller mold
to use. One would need to manufactured.

However (as I understand) due to FT acquiring Fisher, the priority shifted and FT
would first manufacture a smaller concentric for it. Then a DD for the T2.

At one time "spokesmen" posted bullishly the DD would be forthcoming.
But now they are silent... I have one of the first T2's. It was pulled off the line
and especially sent to me. I bought it. Even sent in $50 to have it modded or
updated (whatever). My main objective was to use it for nuggethunting eluvial
gold in the arid southwestern deserts. For this I believe a solid mold six(?)
inch DD would be a good choice. But, with the current economic situation,
likely(?) the "bean counters" have vetoed the smaller coil... I can understand
this... However, I cannot understand the "wishy-washy" ignoring "if or when"
the smaller coil will be made...

Thus, I can understand and epthasize with the frustrations that are being posted.
However, I have no axe to grind... I appreciate my T2 being pulled off the line and
especially sent to me... Since I bought it... paid the price... I am not unhappy
using it as a coinhunter. I'm old and can no longer swing a heavy machine, but
the T2 is well balanced and easy to use...

Hi Veronica,

When will one be available ?

Thank you,

Larry Jeffrey

I believe they will work on one by the end of this year but I am not exact on this information.

Thank you,

Bounty Hunter Metal Detectors

 I have had the same trouble with Whites Electronics.:rage: Every time I ask about a small coil (4 inch, 5 inch,) for the Prism Series detectors I get the same answer. It is really frustrating. Bounty Hunter did an excellent job by offering a FREE 4 inch coil PLUS rod to go with the purchase of the F2

i have the fisher f-2 and the garrett ace-250 and ill take the ace-250 anyday! of course, they are both back-ups to the t-2.

Bill Ladd said "That said, what can be done maybe is what was done for the small F75 coil. Take an existing coil housing design and make a small coil for the T2."

For the F-75, I have been wondering why they would take an elliptical coil design and make it concentric rather than DD... now I know. Wouldn't it be better to make the concentric a small round coil and a DD design for the elliptical?

If there is a small coil for the F-75 (I don't know what size) why can't that coil housing be used and just rewind the insides to conform to the T2's needs. There wouldn't be any retooling for the housing. I realize I don't know about electronics or what is involved to make a coil, but it seems to me if there was a smaller coil, then people would be considering the T2 and selling more of them, than the F-75. Maybe I'm just over simplifying the problem.
