First time out with DEUS

1 SIlver, 2 wheaties, bunch of clad and a few mini's.

I ran in Basic 1 most all the time. I have got to find a better program. Has any one ran the Gary's Hot or Cold program. Also, i see alot of people telling me to run Basic 2 to start?

I got the pin pointing down pat but on a deep signal that only hits here and there but a good signal how do i pinpoint the exact location?

How do you determine Depth on the DEUS?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Huntin, For depth use the horse shou . If it gets black half way down the target is about 5" to 6" down. After you use it awhile you will get to know it better.I run basic 1 or 2 about all the time, and do some adjustments. If you have a clean field that don't have a lot of trash, use Gold Field for finding some very small medal. I can't belive how small of a piece it will pick up, and DEEP TO. Good luck with your Deus, I have only had mine about 1 1/2 mos. but doing very well. Be sure and get Andy S. book.

Just for curiosity what size coils are you using ....
Thanks
Rob

I guess a better question would be for those of you that have both coils (9 & 11) which one do you use more often , not considering surface conditions which one is you "go to" coil
Thanks
Rob

Mine came with the 11, most of my hunting is woods few fields, wish i had a 9 in the tight woods . Good luck . it is a good machine that you have many ways to set it up. set up a few programes and when you get a good reading switch threw them to see how the are working. I set all my tones to 2 tell i can get way better with it.

I bought my new Deus last April and ordered it with the 9" coil because I hunt a lot of heavy iron, overgrown and woods sites - it seems to be the perfect in between sized coil for my type of hunting.

I bought a used Deus a last Summer so family members would have a light weight / high end machine to use on weekends or when we go on vacation - ( ended up selling it - because they just didn't have enough free time ) - this machine came with an 11" coil.
For me the 11" coil was just to big for my style of hunting - but if you did a lot of field or beach hunting it would be a better choice than the 9" coil for sure.

Good luck with your new Deus !
