Hi all just had to let u know about my first trip out with my ace 250,, I use to detect alot when I was younger with my Grandfather but got busy with work and life,, finaly I could aford a good machine and after reading alot of your forums went with the 250,, picked 2 machines up on friday and my wife and I went to work in the yard we were staying ,, not an old place only been there about 8 years with no real history about it,thought we might pick up some new coins ,but on my second signal that read like a pulltab I dug up a very small and fine gold ring with a nice red stone in it, my first gold even after all the years I did when I was kid,, very exciting,,, :)

cheers Roger

To find a gold ring on the first time out is awsome.:clapping: You are hooked ,,all you want to do now is find another:thumbup:, and you will.

And you have a wife that detects.:yo: If I could find a woman that likes to detect I would marry her too.

Welcome to the forum!:bouncy:This is a wonderful community and a great place to share info!:garrett:Welcome back to the hobby of metal detecting!:detecting:Feel free to ask for advice at any time.

Congrats on the gold ring!:cheers:That Ace is a great machine. My wife and I hunt together as well. Make sure you keep a distance of thirty feet or more between you while detecting with machines of the same frequency. Otherwise there will be much false signaling and such, due to operating on the same frequency. Best of luck to ya'!:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)

Open it with microsoft photo editor if you have it.(any photo editor will work) Click "image",, and then resize. Then will have option to reduce size by any %.,,,, Try 50%, maybe 60%. Then hit "file" top left, and "save". Its really easy and you are going to want to be able to post some pics. Most to show your finds and some to try to identify them. There is a forum here just for the purpose of ID.
Good Luck

I post at 60% size. If you have trouble with your photo editor use paint. Shrink in vert. and horiz. I save as, that way I still have the original.

WTG on the gold ring Roger. Gotta like that and with a new detector to boot.
Bet you were glad you checked the yard. Sometimes the obvious is overlooked.
Best of luck with your Ace 250 ! Gene

Sweet ring. It might take you a lot longer to find number two. I frequently go months and months between gold finds. Great start to your cereer!
