Found this button in a yard in S. Indiana. Never thought I would find such items
here. Any info more would be appreciated.

ground was soft yesturday. Cold today so I expect it is hard again.

Nice find. Indiana had a great number of troops in the Union army to meet the States quota. The states regiments served all over, Army of the Potomac, Sherman's western Army. Research , you can find more.
