First woods hunt of the winter.

jim tn

Well-known member
Grabbed the F 75 LTD this morning and headed out for my first venture into the woods. One of my fellow club members had said he hunted in the woods last weekend and saw no crawling critters and had no tic's on him, so felt it was time to hit the woods. My hunt was made within the first 5 minutes when I promptly hit the 42 Washington quarter. Anything else would be gravy. Besides the 44 and 46d wheats and the 34 Merc., got a round ball, a key with blank metal tag and 39 cents in clad. Had on the 11" dd coil, sen set on 87, disc 0, bp mode, 4h tones and g b of 62-64. You done Good !!!

I also hunt in the woods alot especially around old hunting cabins, Lots of silver around them. Great job.

Super nice finds. Keep an eye on your backside in those woods.

How deep were the coins?

They weren't deep, 4-5," but with the underbrush still pretty thick, I had to swing the coil several inches above the brush and ground quite a bit of the time. That kind of hunting situation is where the LTD/SE in B P mode really excels. See you at the meeting. HH jim tn Oh, and I do watch my back!

Jim, great hunt as always. BUT, it is NOT WINTER. How dare you utter those words. Keep up the great work.

thanks and sorry about uttering those words. Guess I had another of those senior moments. SC is one great and beautiful state. I had business that took me to Charleston a lot and I really liked the area. HH jim tn

Nice hunting jimtn:thumbup:gotta like that boost process in the woods....hh rick in mi.

thanks, and yes, the boost process really does work in that kind of environment. Except this morning, it didn't do all that well. 38 wheat was the best of anything I could muster. HH jim tn
