Firsts!

Another first today! That makes three firsts this month! I purchased my E-trac on the 7th and am most pleased with my results so far. Today it was a 1923s Walking Liberty half, my first one. My other firsts are a no date SLQ, and two IH cents, a 1892 and a 1903. Five Mercs, a 1919s Buff, a 42s war nickel, and 13 wheats. My half is pretty close to or right on a "fine" grade. the Mercs are all EF 40+ and are very pretty coins. The buff and war nickel are about fine also. The half came from an area where my machine is in constant null except for iron falses. A 19s penny came out of this area today also and I know there are more goodies to be pulled from this area but I don't know how yet! Today it was long tones, deep off, fast on, sen 26 to 28, but really I am just spinning my wheels. A really small coil might help, or taking a year to 'clean' every bit of metal from a couple acres! What a problem huh? A great site with old coins and lots of trash to contend with. Wish I had ten more just like it so I could look at different trees. I'm off on a two week road trip in the morning so good luck everyone!

good to see some one finding stuff. All i managed yesterday was a 1920 wheat from my worked out iron patch.
How do you like the long tones? Did long help you any?

The tone was crappy, no threshhold at all, 10 to 16 with a constant 47, about 8 to 10 inches deep, hard to pinpoint, and I did not cross check any of the other tones. So I am not sure if long helped or not, except the coin is in my finds box and not out in the woods so I am thinking it must have helped. Thanks for those settings!
