fisher cz3d serial 1021

Hey all, I finally after it seemed like forever found a cz3d serial number 1021 and it was certified by Tom Dankowski, there is a white sticker on the bottom of the detector.

I live in Connecticut, Does anyone have any setting or tips on this detector the for the ground conditions in the New England area.

Thank you very much ..Tony

Tony you were not joking about waiting for one.Read your posts, very determined i must say..
Plenty of info here . Only had mine for a few weeks
I live north of you MA/NH line
Our soil is on the mild side and CZ set up is easy.
A good ground balance and no need to go past 5 with sensitivity control. HH Mike.

Tony:

You have searched, found and spent good money on one of the best detectors on the market. Do yourself a HUGE favor and order Tom Dankowski's "Metal Detecting Real World Techniques Inland Coin and Relic Hunting" DVD. It will be the best 25 dollars you will have spent on detecting in general, and the CZ3D in specific. The "high to low, low to high" tones will really drop your confidence level until you see Tom detecting with this machine and learn what to ignore, and what to dig. I waited until I was about to give up on learning my 3d and finally ordered Toms DVD out of desperation. I was 'sure' he could not teach me anything as I had detected for many years. I was wrong.

Get it! You'll be glad you did.

also I think that hunting in zero disc is a little harsh for the begginer,,,,, try one or two and see how a GOOD signal sounds without all the other chatter THEN go to zero disc JMHO

I guess I'm the only guy on the forum's who couldn't get my hands on another 1021 CZ-3D! I had to settle for a F.T. machine and that wasn't cheap. But tom did get it straightened out. And even though it's not as hot as my 1021 it is better in iron and albumin trash. That is the thing about CZ-3D's is they all are a little different. It seems for some reason they are red hot rite know even the F.T. ones. I remember this time last year you would always see a 1021 on the classifieds or ebay. I guess everything has a cycle as I am sure they will come around again.

I never take my CZ5 out of zero discrimination.....and I don't get fooled by many deep square nails. It works great for cherry picking the coins out of the trash and you need to hear the iron to do this. Try the 5 inch coil on your 3D....it is deep and hot on coins.

I found a hard hitting 1021 CZ on Craigslist. My first thought was to buy it and resale it to make a buck. After I got an airtest of 11 inches on a dime I decided to send it to Tom for a tuneup. Some of the best money ever spent if you ask me. He realigned, fine tuned, and adjusted it. It came back with a 12" inch dime in Florida soil sticker on the bottom of it. Can't wait to get outside with it but Indiana is pretty much frozen in. Guess it will be a few weeks. I have been running the 10.5 coil on it. Some of my oldest and best finds have been with a CZ3d. My first one was a brand new FT machine and I loved it. Got a chance to pick up a 1021 and went to it. Now I have two of them and figure I don't have to be gentle with both of them. Hoping to do a lot of hard hunting with one of them this year.
