Fisher drills me a second time!!!

Yep Im the one that was bummed with Fisher because my F75 LTD had the screen snapped off from the handle in the box but hey I got a replacement on my door step tonight just in time to hit my civil war site this weekend. I begin reading the directions and go through modes dying to test out Boost Process. So Im scrolling through all the modes, de, bc, je,etc but theres no boost or cache modes???? I recheck everything and reread everything but nothing. I do the hard reset and keep getting an F on the screen instead of the Le (limited edition). The machine is solid black, has all the decals etc but this is not an LTD!!! So another couple of hours waste assembling, disassembling, and repackaging the wrong detector. I would love to have an F75 LTD that works but if I had it to do all over again I would have bought a Whites V3i just because of the headache. I hope someone from Fisher reads this forum and sees this!

Hmmm ! I guess that they should send you the LTD and allow you to keep the wrong one too ! ... Just my thoughts, I mean, you've had a bad hit twice now, and Fisher should be looking after you to keep you as a customer !

Are you saying that it is a regular F75 carrying the decals of a limited? If so, wow, that is pretty weird. Have you let them know?
I am a big Fisher fan and hope they come through for you. I can't believe your luck. Keep us posted as to the next chapter. A phone call to
Fisher critical. Good luck.

Thanks Landstar but I don't even want this detector. I wanted what I've read to be one of the deepest detectors on the market in the LTD. All this time researching and saving then you spend over a grand on something thats been nothing but a headache rather than a pleasure.

Yep cometguy its a sheep in wolfs clothing. Heres a video I uploaded on youtube showing me going through the processes. However how would it benefit me in anyway to lie, Im the one out so far on the deal.

If anything I always got back more then I asked for from Fisher. Sent in my F5 for coil problem at box and they sent me the detector back with a new coil and screw in coil wire to the box instead of the push in type.

BG64vm, Mike Scott from Fisher hits this site, He's a real great guys drop a post to him with that video, it might help .

Do you mean the black painted SE (special edition) instead of the camo painted LTD (limited edition that have been sold out)?

Did it ship from Fisher in Arizona or Outdoor Outfitters in Illinois?

WOW !! This is certainly uncalled for and someone needs to get reamed for it.
Selling you a standard F-75 (gold "S" rod) painted black instead of the F75 SE (the real black one) you paid for ... that is fraud!
I guess that is what you get when you make the same detector three different ways.
When the people that work there cant get them sorted out how do they expect the rest of us to keep up.

I have a new (black) F75 SE that is to be delivered today and If I lived close enough you would certainly be welcome to borrow it for the weekend.

WOW!!!.........Even if this situation is rectified,!?...Its still an incident I'm sure you/others wont soon forget!......Whats happening here with QC???.......

Go ahead and delete this one too.....:smoke:

The word Fraud is over the top in this discussion IMO and fans the flame.:ranting:
If this unit came from the factory or a authorized dealer do you think thy would
intentionally send out a bogus unit and hope nobody would notice.
And while we are at it does anyone think Fisher or a dealer would toss a broken detector in
the box and ship it out.
As far as i have seen there are still plenty of black SE with boost mode.
This is no different than a miss dated coin. The wrong components dropped into the wrong housing.
Maybe there is a gold F75 out there with boost mode , but its not going back for a fix.

I wouldnt say anything was intentional. I noticed this machine had a foam block under the handle to support it and the screen that the last one I opened up didnt have or it was stuck in the corner of the box. Maybe it came loose and allowed the screen to bang around and snap off. The box was in excellent shape so I hate to point fingers at the shipper. This second one is whats really got my goat. I was hoping that I was an idot (obviously I am) and that I wasnt doing something right to initiate boost and cache mode but my dealer walked me through it, Ive read everything and the video on youtube shows its just not there. If you play the odds then you have to say theres alot of problems with Fisher Labs to twice have problems or Im extremely unlucky which might be plausible as well.

I talked to Mike Scott this morning and he is all over it. They are going to ship him a new one today with rushed shipping. Dave Johnston is also involved and working the matter. They are doing their best to figure out how this happened and trying to make everything right.

I also talked to my customer this morning and let him know what was happening. I feel terrIble for what has happened. This should be fixed today. Bg64 has been VERY understanding over rhe whole thing. Kudos to him. Sorry this has happened to him. Hopefully this won't happen again.

You are right ... Fraud is a bit over the line as I am sure this was not intentional.
Just a bit of bad luck for the guy with the cash.
Tried to edit my post but I guess the time limit has expired.

Nothing can make up for a lost detecting weekend ... when it is gone ... it is gone for good.
The older you get the more that means to you.

Understood Willee been there done that.
This problem is on Fisher and some heads might roll .
As in any business bad pub and factory errors cost big coin and that hurts.

the reasoning may be as simple as a detector shipped in an incorrect box!
it happens, and everyone makes "honest" mistakes!..just sayin!

Not quite that simple JT ... totally different paint job and lettering on the shaft and rod assembly ... somehow a standard F-75 control head got put on a F-75 SE rod and coil assembly.
Had to happen at the factory where they assemble them.
The control heads look identical on either unit and can only be told apart by turning it on and looking at the menu.
(or possibly a sticker with a part number on it)

Now the big question is ... was this just a one time thing or is there a run of F-75 SE machines made using the standard F-75 control head.
Did a batch of standard F-75 control heads get sent to the F-75 SE assembly line by mistake.
I am sure the fellas at Fisher are shuddering at that thought and are checking their stock right now.

I have a new F-75 SE scheduled for delivery today and you can bet that is the first thing I will check.
If it is not right I am sure Fisher will make it so ... that is the thing about buying an American product.

From the posts I have read it was sold by Bart at Big Boy Hobbies.
Same person I ordered my new F-75 SE from.
I can tell you for a fact Bart is a stand up fella and will take money from his pocket to make things right.
In this case I know his hands are tied but you can bet he is doing everything he can to expedite this.

Until then, Customer Service is a demanding job that really requires heads up ball...even if its outside the protocol or proceedure, you just gotta do it right!
look at how many people have read this thread, and the title of it...as well as some posts where new detectorists are asking for help deciding on what product to buy...very damaging this computer can be, and a very excellent ally too, if a manufacturer recognizes its power.

hi willee!
yeah!..i would be concerned too if your detector got sent to the same dealer!
don't think it's a big deal though because i am sure (f.t) will make it right,or the dealer too!
these things can happen, and don't believe there was any "malice" or evil intention on (f.t's)
part!..you will get what's coming to you!
