Fisher dropping hints on their new machine.

So I saw this news info on the Fisher website.
It is about how Fisher purchased a company that manufactures tactical night vision and LCD technology.

What does a metal detector company need with tactical night vision? Perhaps some new ground breaking screen id is coming soon from Fisher.

Here is the link .

FTP advertised the G-2 quite awhile before the machine became available. The EURO Tech came out of nowhere. I would like to see a new product with the depth of the F-75 LTD and silent like the G-2. Oh yeah and waterproof GOLD only mode and a bobble head beam me up SCOTTY figure that would dig the targets. What do you think Mud? :detecting::fisher:

While you are at it hershy, let's make it as easy on the ears as the CZ's, and wireless..... :beers:

Interesting...I dont know, you would think they could stuff some slightly modified Eurotech or 70 or even F5 guts in a waterproof shell and call it a day? not knowing the numbers, I have to believe the atPro has been a hot seller and a real winner for the Competition. Heck, its priced right, been on several TV shows, has a hell of a following, finds everything in its path for the most part... etc...with just a few minor changes to that type of platform, getting rid of the weak spots like the small screen, which is pretty much unusable, etc..

Thats the hole in the Fisher line up from where I'm sitting, waterproof to 25' and priced right.. Fisher cannot be concerned about marketing to existing users, they gotta be able to see where the sport is going, and what the demographics of their FUTURE buyers will look like...Existing user feedback is important, and of course whatever they come out with will get a good work out by us, but in all seriousness, most of the noobs in the future will be inland/freshwater/beach jewelry and clad hunters, so thats the market...gotta be waterproof whatever it is just for marketings sake to beat the Pro. Regarding the law of diminishing returns, most future younger noobs will not be able to afford anything near the 1000 dollar mark, but a 6-7 hundred dollar unit should be able to pay itself off quickly. Then of course dependability and strength...if Fisher sells 10 units but gets 5 of them back due to a mfg failure, all the profit on the 10 is a wash...so whatever it is has got to be structurally sound so those calls dont come in....A waterproof 70 with a hydrodynamically shaped coil would be my dream machine.

I agree with waterproof. I also think they were, and will stay on the "lightning fast", for getting in between the iron. For me, I need more depth along with great ID and speed for old coinage hiding in iron nails. Multy freq for wet salt, to boot. Don't need gps a cigarette lighter, clock or a cup holder.

Wouldn't need that Dave--I quit drinkin YEARS ago!----Just ad a little bit more in features to that sweet GB/G2 & ya got the (almost) perfect machine!

Quite alive, not on deathbed yet. Went hiking on North Hueco yesterday, it was gettin' pretty ugly (several people asked me if I was OK), but I know my limits and got back down off the mountain safely.

Good to hear, now get back into the lab and design us another good one......

Seriously, glad to hear you are doing ok...

There goes my healthy hobby...

Kidding aside, I have an inexpensive suggestion for future FT detectors. It seems trivial on first thought and has nothing to do with performance, but why not a built-in clock? I put cheap little stick on clocks on the side of two of my three regularly used detectors and when I use the detector without a clock I miss it.

Other things in life (including The One Who Must Be Obeyed) often give me a fairly rigid ending time when I detect. Having the time right there on my detector whenever I want to see it is a nice convenience.

Sounds extremely inconvenient to me. How about a clock with its own battery, and comes standard with a dead battery, so you can apologize for being late, "Sorry, the clock died and I didn't realize it."

--Dave J.

I remember from back in the spring people were talking of a new FT detector on the CZ forum. Someone photoshopped a picture of the controls of a CZ-3D and added a transporter control, to dig the target, and a beer tap on the side. I wish I could find it and repost it on here. Oh well...

Been there done that, Dave...dead batteries don't cut it with The One Who Must Be Obeyed. :argue:

The worst thing about MDing for me is stopping when I'd prefer not to.

But I don't daydream about retirement and having more free time, since that will mean I'm several years closer to leaving this mortal plane. And like you, I'm in no rush to meet the Grim Reaper.

Mr. Scott if such a machine is intact in the testing stages and goes into production. How about a giveaway on finds contest forum. My thoughts. Are it would be a great marketing. Strategy and it would be very cool to see 2000. Pages of guesses!!!! Mr. Scott Dave J. And everyone at FT. Have a great day. You fellas have been a tremendous help to me and many others going above and beyond at any given time. And mr.Felix and his techs as well I truly appreciate all the help and great customer care and advice and answers and tips settings suggestions etc. you guys make First Texas. The outstanding. True leader. In the industry HH. C t

I'll tell ya what's going to happen. I'm going to hold out as long as I can stand it and end up spending way too much money on the Deus/CZ3D/CZ21 combo I've been contemplating, then FRL will roll out another killer machine that will cover all the bases and have me in the dog house with the wife for the next year or so.....

I'll tell you one thing, my moneys on DaveJ.. if he's got anything for us to look forward to, ..if not, OK, I understand...manufacturing and corporate constraints and all. I'll NEVER get rid of the F70, but I sure would like to have a Fisher unit that can kill everybody out there in the Deus/Minelab/ waterproof world...thats the real rub, Fisher has the technology, service dept, and strengths...but WE all only have a limited time on this Planet to be able to hunt, and the World is a big place, and coils are so small...I know they can pull this off ! ...Time and treasure wait for nobody, but for a guy like DaveJ, with his background and experience, I have to hope he has the perfect detector that he probably dreamed up years ago just waiting for this point in Time. Well? (no clock or beer spigot required)

Mr.Johnson. Good to see you posting. Hope all is well with you. With me i couldn't be happier I'm loving my 75ltd and my t2se. I can honestly say I've been detecting 41 yrs now. From heathkit to big bud to the heaviest slowest fbs machines. Never ran a cz. Probably should have. And with all the money spent and all the water under the bridge. The 2 machines I run now. T2. And F75ltd. Do what they're supposed too!!!! Listening to either is amazing!! Music to my ears. They work!! And I haven't been skunked once whilst using either!!!!!!!!!! Bravo Sir. These 2. Are gonna be hard to beat!!! Thank you. HH c t. Tom

Hmmmmmmm goodevening fellas. I had a thought I have read lots of posts on what fellow hobbyists. Would like to see in a new fisher. I have this thought now just my 2cents. I would like a) the coil cable running inside the shaft. B). A slide camlock system to provide easier more precise height or rather length adjustment. I don't know but I find myself on hillsides or in trenches and find it a bit hard to get a perfect height. Or length of shaft to be comfortable. Also perhaps a larger search coil Somewhere between the 11in biaxial and the too heavy 15in. Well that's it. To top existing performance that's gonna be tough!!!!!!!!!!! It will be interesting. To see!!!!! HH tom all. C t
