Fisher F75SE :fisher: I Gave My Genie A Good Rubbing Before Heading Out:detecting:

I felt like I needed a little edge, so I rubbed on my Genie a little extra this morning. The weather didn't look promising, it was calling for rain on and off all day long. I got to my new location about daybreak making it a little hard to see. I eased down the grassy area between the curb and sidewalk and wasn't finding anything but memorial pennies. Finally I moved up to an area of the yard between the old driveway and what looked like the remains of an old cedar tree stump. I got a sweet soft high tone that had silver written all over it. I dug down and to my surprise I found a 1914 Barber Dime. The house was built around '52, so you just never know what might pop up out of the ground. I did manage to find a few wheat pennies to help date the area ( 1942, 1955, 1936, 19??, 1945, 1940, 1944 ). It started spitting rain, but not hard enough to run me to the car. I decided to make a run down the side of the driveway. I got strong signal that was a mix of a high tone and zinc tone. I dug down and popped a screw cap. I rescanned the hole and got a sweet clean high tone and unearth a 1964 Rosie. I dug a few more coins, but the rain was starting to come down so I decided to call it a day with just little over an hour of detecting for the day and save the rest of the silver and gold for another day. I was using 4H tones, 7 on the discrimination, boost mode and had the sensitivity set at 50. Smooth running. There is a lot of area to cover, I'm going to need to get Taylor to come help me empty this site of silver and gold. We got around 9 or10 pieces of silver at the last site we hunter together. I haven't even gone near the clothes lines yet. That is one of my favorite places to detect.

Great haul in such a short time!

Still have the whole backyard at the 1915 rental to detect...maybe later this week?! The landlord of that place wanted the video link - and he was surprised so many coins came out of the yard (then I showed him the link to our hunt on 12-21!) Utter amazement! Sadly, this is the only house he owns that I'd detect - others are from the 1970s on up...

Keep rubbing that Genie ( Was it a Genie garage door opener) LOL ..Hey what ever works tab..and it sure did work...

Thanks everyone, it's rainy nasty cold and windy outside today. The thought of getting wet, cold and muddy is going to keep me inside today.:)

I really want to get out there and hit that site super hard, but it will have to wait. :detecting:

I'm pumped about finding that Barber Dime. It has to be more good stuff there as well. I can't wait to see what will turn up under the old clothesline.:)

You're killing it. Great job!

Thanks. Did you just buy yourself a new upgraded toy? Keep me posted with the results, I respect your opinion.

I will do tab. I bought an older camo model, and an upgrades one to compare. I'll let you know the results when they arrive and are tested.

How deep was the barber dime Tabman?

It's was only around 3 or 4 inches deep and not in area where you'd expect to fine a barber dime. You just never know. You may end up digging a zinc penny at 7 inches and then find a wheat penny laying on top of the ground just feet away.
