Excellent, I'm glad to see Fisher is communicating with their customers!

Mine is there right now. Looking forward to getting it back and putting it to work.

Same here Elton. I can understand Fisher trying to get info out to the masses though without trying to post it on ten or fifteen forums.

Gonna have to make something happen, and fast from the look of it. I will have my BP ohhhh yeah it will be mine lol.

Big BIG thanks for pointing this out,

Lakota

Yeah, me too. I don't do Facebook or Twitter.

But they could at least post it on their own website so those of us who do check the FAQ and News & Events there might have been better informed. It's not mentioned on the Home page, under Service/Upgrades or News & Events.

Upgrade Update
We have received some excellent feedback from many delighted customers in regards to their recent upgraded units. We plan on offering this upgrade service through March 1st of 2015.
Early on, we ran into a few hiccups with some of the older unit’s circuits and hardware not being compatible with the new upgrade software. Thanks to our customer’s reports and our dedicated engineers, we were able to identify, diagnose and rectify the issue very early in the process.
Further complicating this, well intentioned community members wrongly reported that the non-compatibility issue could be identified through a serial number range. This is not the case. You cannot rely on a serial number range, rather you have to rely on performance, as affected units will have a noticeable loss in performance.
As always anyone who feels their detector is not operating as it should, whether it’s an upgraded unit or a new one, should call our repair department so we can get it looked at.
We also experienced some shipping delays over the holidays and would like to apologize to those customers who experienced delays.
Thank you for your continued support

I responded on their Facebook site with this comment:

"I believe the distributor here in Canada still has old units for sale (as advertised). Is this simply a 'Caveat Emptor' situation such that when they're all sold to 'unknowing' buyers then 'new' DST versions will quietly start shipping....This transition is being handled very poorly. I doubt that anyone in Canada has one of the new units...."

and to make it worse, anyone unknowingly buying one of these older units will not have the opportunity of getting it updated after March 1st......real nice Fisher....I really think your management should 'think this out'.....this isn't how you develop good customer rapport....

I may be a little in the dark.............. But will figure something out..

Thanks for posting the information ... I don't do Face Book either. I'll need to get moving on sending mine in.

Found out yesterday after work my wife borrowed the funds to get mine sent in for my B-day present. So I dont have to dip into my silver horde after all.. I love my lady!

Get on it tvr and good luck,

Lakota
