For newbies. Ace 250 tip. :detecting:

i was a a local pawn shop and found a ace 25o for sale for 159.00 should i get it or what i say get it used but works with head phones

Notch #3 is already active in the jewelry mode. A notch is a notch no matter what mode your in. They are the same.

Check out the serial number up around where the coil connects to the head. The second number is the year. The 3rd and 4th number is the month of manufacture.

Bernie,
Thanks for the advice. I have looked at the patent road for other products and this one. I have decided not to protect this accessory. The reason is even though it will be a great product and there are 1.5 billion Ace 250 and 150's sold. I don't think the casual hunter will even care about my accessory. But for the professional hunter they will buy it. I really don't see me selling a ton of these. Only the hard core hunters will shell out $24.95 I will produce these at such a low cost that I don't even think anyone would make cheap knock offs. I wouldn't make any money if I spent 5k$ to protect it.

That's a good buy if it's in good shape. Volume controlled headphones are a must with the 250 if you're going to use headphones.

Wonder if somehow one could patent it like you can copyright something by mailing it to yourself by registered mail and never opening it.

That's something else I would like on a new tector is a dial-in notch adjustment so you could set it precisely wherever you wished. Some of my old Tesoros had manual notch adjustment and you could dial those puppies in right where you wanted it. You have a much wider range with this type of adjustment. I used to set mine to reject tabs and still hit nickel.

I think most detector accessories are not patented. I don't think anyone will be able to produce a better and cheaper product. It's like the Lesche. I see where Minelab has one almost just like it. But if they were side by side we would buy the Lesche.

Bill - I know you would by my American made gizmo over a China made copy?

Bill,
I would love to sell them from here. But I'll probably have to be a sponsor. That will take a big chunk out of any profits I "might" make. I see people selling things they made in the classifieds. I wonder if I could sell a certain amount in the classifieds? I'll probably sell them on ebay.

I know that you didn't like my toggle switch. But I'm working on a similar pinpoint button that you will like. I don't have a working model yet. It's tricky....

i don't think the moderators would mind if ya put a post with a pic of the item up ( as long as Garrett don't make the item or anything like it ) & just say if your interested there are some on the classified section of this forum & by the way i"m quite interested to find out what it"s for & if ya don't hurry up & tell us what it"s for you"ll have a mob after ya :chase:
