Found 4 more keepers tonight.

It's not much but Keepers are Keepers no matter what they are and I figured I would post them even though I only found 4 more to add to the years totals. Quantity really doesn't matter but just finding the oldies is what really counts when on a time limited hunt. I found 1 Silver which turned out to be a 1937-s Mercury Dime that was only about 4" Deep. The other 3 Keepers were Wheats dated 1914,1941, and 1946-d. Found a few Clad also during the hunt to add to the bucket of change also. Thanks for looking and Good Luck and HH to you all.[attachment 62523 Merc.jpg][attachment 62524 Wheats.jpg]

3 or 4 wheaties look that much better. I'm going to try and get out this weekend for a few hours but it will be to the same worked to death site I have been hitting for many years....but it's better than nothing.

What coils you guys using? I got that there 10x14 EQ2 and its a whole nother demention now. I hunt the same old worked out areas too but am still finding keepers with it. The other days I got what appears to be an aluminum token to badly coroded to do anything with. Also got a copper biycle emblem thats a couple of inches across. It was at least a foot down in the sand and rang loud and clear. I new it was not a beer can and I was right.

I also found a few of those Pull Tabs also so I know the feeling. Good Luck and HH.

It may be an old site you have pounded for years but there are always a few keepers left to be found. Try detecting around the edges of this site, along brush, trees, and always look for spots that have been recently mowed that have always been grown up. You would be surprised how many finds are left at sites because usually no-one ever detects along roads and such. I wish you Good Luck and HH where ever you may choose to detect this weekend:detecting:.

Different Angles and Patterns also help in finding keepers that others have missed before also. It just depends on the site conditions and if you are lucky enough to swing your Coil over them. Continued Success with the 10x14 Coil,Good Luck and HH.

It is all about getting out and having a good time.New or old it is still fun to get out.I like the merc and the wheats.Good luck on your next trip out.

I have to drive a little to find most my stuff now days but it sure is relaxing to get out and see what's new in different towns for old sites and meet new people. Hope your finds increase. Good Luck and HH.

Nice going James.....:) At least you have something to post. I just havene't been out that much lately and when I did go out all I could muster was clad. Our Oregon trip was nice, but every place I went has been pounded to death!! After getting back home I traded in my 03 Silverado gas truck and bought a new 07 Duramax. She's pretty nice and will pull my 29 foot 5th wheel with no problems.........:) Again, great finds James and keep it up. HH.

Good to hear from you again. What you needed to do was find out where some Older Sites are in Oregon before you went. Also, you most likely would have done better if you would have hit some small Towns. Better luck next time buddy. I got out for about 16 Hours this weekend and found a few more keepers which I will post tonight. Until then, Good Luck and HH.:detecting:

Now I've got an abundance of places to hunt. Some good some not so good but I'm sampling them as I go. Makin a list and checkin it twice.
Its like Xmas all over again.
