Found A Pocket Spill Of All Half Dollars

I've been getting out of work at 6:00 AM for the last month or so - to early to go home - I'd wake everyone up.
So ... most days I go on a short hunt before I go home - usually about a one hour hunt - a little longer if I find anything any good.

The other day I went to a vacant lot where an old house and garage stood years ago. It was still dark out and raining lightly when I got to the site.
About ten minutes into the hunt I got a nice solid - FE 07 - CO 47 hit - thought it was a Quarter or maybe a Half Dollar ?
It turned out to be a Half that was only 3" to 4" down - the coin was real dirty and it was to dark to see what it was - my guess - being that shallow - probably a Kennedy. I stood up and only got half way through my next swing and got another perfect - FE 07 - CO 47. The first thing that came into my mind was - if there's two Half's that close together - there's a good chance there more !

In less then 10 minutes, in an area less than three feet around - I dug ( 7 ) Kennedy Half's. Even though their not silver - it was still really cool finding that many Half Dollars in one spot !

These coins are dated - 1988 - 1989 - 1990 - 1990 - 1993 - 1995 - 1996.
This brings my total Half Dollar count to (16) for the last two years - (3) Walking Liberty's and (13) Kennedy's.
Now I just need to find a Seated, a Barber and a Franklin Half - put them all together - that sure would make a great looking display !

7 halfs at one spot....sweet! how did you get them to shine up so nice?

Nice Finds! Those half's are always nice to see when you dig them.

Really Amazing Find

When I was a little girl, I would get a Kennedy half from family for stuff, I don't think any were silver but I kept them all these years
My husband decided to take my Kennedy half's and give them to our kids for stuff too

Years later when we started detecting we went out to our yard and you guessed it, We found Kennedy Half's! MINE

I decided to keep them after that and have put them in a secret place for safe keeping

Last question, how did you clean them, they are sparkling

Hi banditicey - I soaked these Half's in a mixture of Vinegar & Salt for approx. twenty minutes - then buffed them lightly with very fine steel wool.
This is the best way I've found to clean common copper clad coins.
When I want to clean a larger volume of clad coins I use a Tumbler with small aquarium gravel & some dish detergent.
