Found another button and a coin at the old plantation site.

This place burned in the late 1800's and there were what appears 4 buildings there. A two chimney plantation house and slave quarters. A springbox to keep things cool using the cool water. Another one was what seems to be a storage house or something from the way the granite blocks outline the entire bottom of the place, (keep rodents out?) And what appears to be a decent sized hole surrounded by granite slabs next to the burned main house. Then just a chimney left of some other house. I got another button and an unidetified coin. A lot of other stuff I carried off. Cool place and I can't wait to get back. I hunted it with the X 5 coil today. In the surrounding immediate area of the building sites you can go at it and if the X 5 gets near anything it sounds off. In the coal laden burn sites it is slow going, gazillions of target's/metal. Can't wait till Tuesday............Here's some pics.

Your pictures sure are good Jack. Crystal clear. Did you ever identify the coin?

Wow! looks like a very promising site. Cant wait to see what else you find there. You should try using electrolysis to clean your coin up. You have to be careful you dont over due it though. Good luck.

Hey jack were you using the sunray x-8 coil when you made those finds? The sunray x-8 is my and my shoulder's favorite coil!

I used the X5 for a while then the X8 for about an hour. The open pine woods are gonna get a taste of the X12 tomorrow. I can cover a lot of ground with it for sure. You know I realized something yesterday, you can hunt this dog fast! If you are not looking for TID numbers the E Trac is a fast hunting machine. In 2 tone ferrous just run and listen for the high tone.................then dig.
