found out something else today with my safari first off i dug a few IHs in very nice shape!!! and some trash ,this one area i tried to pinpoint a target and i kept getting this pulsing sound it seamed like it was about 2' long i thought something was wrong with the detector but i had to dig anyway to see there was anything in the hole and it was a power line for the outside lights they had going to the driveway ,i never knew the detector would pulse on a live power line in pinpoint mode, i think that is good to know ,has anyone else ever noticed this??

Oh yeah. Unless I'm relic hunting I never dig a large or linear hit.

Those that didn't respond, can't...

A Lesche will cut a powerline sheath in a flash and there you are "energized, and ready to beam out"..

Good lesson to learn early on... Anything abnormally long is likely not the droids you are looking for....

Just be careful when you dig but I would not ignore long signals,You will find TV cables ,power lines, copper pipes to old gas lanterns, etc.I have found whole wiper arms off of cars, old chrome car antennas, hood ornaments, dog choke collars etc.But have found very long necklaces and couple of long religious belts, one had nice size gold cross on the end of it.My best was brass fishing rod with Winchester reel on it as I said be careful.

Besides pin-pointing a target, I also try to size it and if it appears to be long and it is not obvious as to what it may be, I'll try to dig where I'm losing the signal at and then dig very carefully. Over the years I've ran into about every kind of line there is except for maybe a natural gas line.

Ive had mine do that inside a property that had an electric dog collar fence. Didnt find a thing inside the fence because it was so bad
